Dr. Todd Tams received his DVM degree from The Ohio State University in 1977 and then entered into a mixed practice in Vermont from 1977-78.  He then completed an internship at the West Los Angeles Veterinary Group in California in 1978-79, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Colorado State University from 1979-81.    Dr. Tams is now Chief Medical Officer for VCA (Veterinary Centers of America), a company that owns and operates over 900 small animal hospitals in the United States and Canada.  Dr. Tams also practices internal medicine and gastroenterology at the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, a 62-doctor practice that offers both general care and a full range of specialty services.  

 He has lectured throughout the United States and in many countries in his special interest areas of clinical gastroenterology and endoscopy.
